Indigenous Gospel Festival

(Clap and Tap)

Fine Town Multipurpose Hall

Booking essential

Indigenous gospel music also known as clap and tap is one of the gospel genre that has its roots in the South African cultural scene. Music is said to be part of the South African communities i.e. when we rejoice we sing, when we are happy we sing, when we are sad we sing. Clap and tap also played a big role during the struggle against apartheid, most commemorations started and ended with gospel songs that really gave hope and courage to the people then.

Clap and tap has become a cultural symbol of worshipping and celebration of life for many in South Africa. It is part of South African Heritage; and hosting the indigenous gospel festival in September celebrates our living heritage as a source of identity and continuity for many.
